Our guides at Fly Fishing Specialties are comprised of patient, hard-working professionals, dedicated to showing customers an enjoyable day on the water. Guided trips are typically scheduled in either half-day or full-day blocks and consist of 1 to 2 anglers. Group trips and other custom outings are available upon request but ultimately depend on guide availability. Jim Zech, California native, has been attempting to make a living in the fly fishing industry for the last 20+ years. Really that's mostly been an excuse to go fishing and act like it's work, and to provide a romantic excuse for being chronically poor. Throughout his "career" Jim has had the opportunity to fish a whole lot of cool places, including the American River, and has done it with a whole lot of cool people, and some not quite so. Jim digs steelhead fishing and thinks that most people should get the hell off whatever river he is fishing.
